(PROJECT DETAIL)
Create a surreal atmosphere through photo collage and grunge for Einstein’s Dreams by Alan Lightman
I kept asking myself: how do I capture his dreams while still showing the human side of Einstein? Balancing vivid, dreamlike visuals with a clear concept was tough
Learning to not overcomplicate and be overwhelmed with a massive challenge to illustrate the whole book, as if this was to be made into a film much later on. One step at a time.
Simplifying the design helped clarify the complex ideas in each frame. Setting clear rules and returning to basic visual hierarchy made all the difference.

Things eventually came together with a vintage sepia palette and centred framing.

DESIGN

(INFO)
key visuals echo the “prologue” from the book, while backgrounds and footage hint einstein’s “theory of relativity” and shifting time.
